the company

n-topos is a privately owned Greek company, active in the fields of Information Technology and Communications.

n-topos' strategy is aiming at building "state of the art" projects, integrated by engineers of high integrity and professionalism, capable of designing and integrating systems of impair quality and reliability, fulfilling customers' expectations and meeting effectively the future technology challenges.

Some of our major projects are:

Hellenic Post Offices

Automatic Vehicle Location - Fleet Tracking & Management System

elta truckn-topos designed, supplied, installed, integrated, trained and will continue to maintain until 2015, the largest telematics project in Greece, for 600 vehicles, 500 drivers and 6.500 points of interest of the Hellenic Post Offices, travelling all around Greece, even beyond the borders. Under the surveillance of a web based Operational Control Center, and 18 sub-centers around the country, the management of “ELTA” controls, directs and monitors all its vehicles and all the sensors of each vehicle (panic button alarm, door sensors, engine control) along with each drivers routing and scheduling details.

Tram of Athens
tram2N-topos has designed, developed, built, supported and run the navigation and controlling technologies of the TRAM of Athens which was built for the 2004 Olympic Games. The Total of the project was of 8,5 million euros and it is fully operational since August 2004.

The tram project comprehends a telematics and fleet tracking system, running under "Dimetra" the Motorola's Tetra network, a SCADA system, a passenger information system, a SMART-STOP system, an intelligent traffic light priority system, a wireless switches activation system and the OCC (the Operational Control & Communications Center).

Athens International Airport

"Eleftherios Venizelos"

aianew1n-topos designed, installed and integrated the first TETRA system in Greece, a project for the Athens International Airport, which now runs under both GPRS and TETRA.

The cooperation between n-topos and AIA begun in 2003 and continues successfully up today.

n-topos has designed and installed a central application server at the AIA’s Information Technology Department, accessible, through web, by all the airport’s authorities. This server comprehends the software, the detailed mapping, the communications protocols and all the applications and reporting of a complete telematics system.

All the various systems, designed and installed by n-topos, including those inside the vehicles, the busses, the smart stops and the mobile tetra terminals, are linked and communicate with the central server every second, 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.

ILPAP fleet management system
troleiThe first and unique Integrated Fleet Management System ever deployed in Greece has been developed by n-topos in 1997, for the needs the Trolley Bus Operator (ILPAP) in Athens. ILPAP is managing a public transport network of 21 bus lines with over 350 vehicles, within Athens Metropolitan Area.

This project is designed for 500 trolley busses and it consists of the development of an Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) and Intelligent Transport System, which allows fleet supervision by real-time tracking and monitoring of vehicles at the Control Center and handles all information regarding the consistency of timetables, ticket invalidation statistics, mechanical condition of vehicles and driver's ID. Software applications for planning & scheduling, Resource management, Real-time Control and Statistical analysis have been developed. Two-way voice and data communications between the Control Center and the trolley buses have been implemented.

Passengers Information System and Smart Bus Stop System regarding next trolley bus approaching, traffic congestion conditions, etc. are also available.

Anti-hale system for ELGA
elga_system2The project consists of a network of 80 remotely controlled terrestrial anti-hail stations, designed to remove or destroy hail-bearing clouds. There are wireless communication links between the Control Center and the local systems, whereas the subsystems are powered by photovoltaic cells. The project is completed and fully operational since 2003.

  • Wireless network of 80 remotely controlled anti-hale terrestrial stations
  • SCADA and Telematics software
  • Alarm management
  • Remote control and activation

Aeolian Park

meltemi1Remote Monitoring and Supervision System of Aeolian Park - TECHNIKI OLYMPIAKI

The project refers to the Remote Administration of an Aeolian Park with 10 Wind Generators.  The System is responsible for data acquisition, storage and processing of real-time data concerning the configuration, status and operation and of the Park's Central Management System as well as of each individual Wind Generator.
Moreover, the Central Server enables Chief engineers except from Remote Monitoring of the Park's Operation, also to wirelessly dynamically intervene and Activate/Reset/Shutdown any Wind Generator, run diagnostic procedures, schedule automatic processes to be executed   and automatic Alarm generation in case of  System malfunction or emergency situations.

Access to the System is provided through a dedicated radio link, but also through a Dial-up Server over a GSM network.
